Spring has arrived, and hellebores are blooming, so it’s time for our annual Hellebore Catalogue. Local customers can pre-order hellebores from the large selection below, ensuring the widest choice and availability. This is the best selection of hellebores we have ever offered, and each plant is hand-picked by us to ensure its superior quality. I am especially thrilled to be able to offer very rare, anemone-flowered hybrid hellebores, like ‘Picotee Pearl’ in the photo above, for the first time ever! I have collected this form of hellebore—my favorite—for years but have never before found a source for it. We will not be selling hellebores on site so ordering from the catalogue and picking up is your only chance to purchase them. Please read the pickup and order information carefully.
.
All hellebores offered are mature, blooming-size plants in gallon pots (6 1/2″ x 7″). The Frostkiss® and Christmas rose hybdrid hellebores are in bloom, the rest will bloom next winter. All the hellebores are $33 per gallon.

PICKUP DETAILS: All orders must be picked up on Friday, March 31, Saturday, April 1, or Friday, April 7 at a time assigned alphabetically by us after the March 26 order deadline. Unfortunately, specific time requests cannot be accommodated as we do not have the capacity to schedule each customer individually. If you can’t make it on any of these days, you are welcome to send a relative or friend to get the plants for you at your assigned time, but alternate dates and times will not be available. We really appreciate your flexibility, which will allow us to eliminate the hundreds of emails and hours it takes to schedule individual appointments. The plants you pick up can be put in the ground immediately or stay in their pots until you are ready to plant them. When you pick up your plants you will be able to bring friends and tour the garden to see all our hellebores in bloom.
.
HOW TO ORDER (sorry no mail order): Minimum order 3 hellebores. Hellebore supply is limited so please check the on line catalogue before ordering to make sure the variety you want is not marked sold out. Please send an email to carolyn@carolynsshadegardens.com or reply to this email with the plant names, quantities, your name, cell number, and preferred pickup day: Friday, March 31, Saturday, April 1, or Friday, April 7. Unfortunately, we will not be able to process your order if you do not select a day or if you specify a time as times will be assigned alphabetically, and your selections may sell out. We will send you an acknowledgment of your order, within 24 to 48 hours. If you don’t get an acknowledgment, it means we didn’t receive your order. Payment for your plants is by cash or check at pick up, but please consider your order a non-cancellable commitment as we will not be able to resell your hellebores. Orders must be received by Sunday, March 26.
.
Cultural Information: Hellebores are the dream plant: their leaves are evergreen, their flowers are large and striking, they come in a wide range of beautiful and unusual colors, they bloom in winter, their form is elegant, and deer don’t touch them. Your hellebores can be planted immediately (or wait in their pots until you are ready to plant) anywhere from almost full sun to almost full shade as long as they are well drained. They are not picky about soil, but we always add compost when we plant. They require no fertilization and no supplemental water once they are established.
